First day’s report of 7th Iran Plast Exhibition in 2010  

Five thousand visitors came to visit products and services displayed at 7th Iran Plast Exhibition on its first day on Wednesday.

Three specialist meetings as well as three workshops were held on this day as well. Abdolhossein Bayat, Director of Iranian National Petrochemical Company (NPC) also visited the exhibition on Wednesday.

During Bayat’s long visit to the exhibition, directors of participating companies briefed Bayat on their companies’ activities and products.
The directors also pointed out the problems they face in the plastic industry.

Three specialist meetings held

Three specialist meetings under the topics of “designing and mold manufacturing industry”, “examining challenges in supplying polymer raw material” and “studying problems facing small industries” were held on Wednesday.

During the “designing and mold manufacturing industry” meeting, some representatives from mold manufacturing industry and a number of machinery manufacturers and experts discussed issues with regard to designing in the industry. 

Reza Mohtashamipour of the NPC said the meeting was held to discuss problems facing the mould manufacturers, adding, “In the mould manufacturing industry which has high rate of job creation, unfortunately (we) have become importers and have not been able to act successfully in the area.”
Another attendee said that mould manufacturers should work to gain expertise in certain areas so that they can monopolize those areas.
This way the economization of the industry will be obtained as well, the attendee added. 

An official of the mould manufacturers union said, the lack of proper education for students at universities is another problem facing the industry.
Another participant in the meeting also cited the low economical profit as the most important problem in the industry.

“Examining challenges in supplying polymer raw material” meeting were also attended by the distributors and buyers of polymer raw material.
During the meeting, the plastic manufactures discussed the challenges in supplying the polymer raw materials.

At the end of the meeting, the director of the NPC, vowed to take necessary measures to resolve these problems.

Iraqi delegation visits exhibition

A 27-member delegation of Iraqi merchants paid a visit to the exhibition.
The delegation travelled to Tehran upon an invitation by the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran to hold talks with directors of participating companies in the exhibition.

Oil minister meets representatives of plastic industry

On the sidelines of the inauguration ceremony of the exhibition on Tuesday, Iranian Oil Minister Masoud Mirkazemi answered questions asked by the plastic industry’s representatives.

Also in meeting with heads of associations of the plastic industry, Mirkazemi proposed some suggestions and strategies for improving the working conditions of the plastic and rubber manufactures. He also expressed readiness to facilitate the work of manufactures in this industry.
