Seventh edition of Iran Plast International Exhibition Inaugurated  

Seventh edition of Iran Plast International Exhibition, which is participated by some 680 Iranian and foreign companies, was inaugurated in the presence of the oil minister. The exhibition is open for the public visit from June 23, 2010.

The number of participating companies as well as the exhibition space has increased noticeably in this edition of the event compared to its previous edition.
 
Some 423 Iranian and 257 foreign companies from 22 countries will be present in 19300-square meter exhibition area in this edition of Iran Plast. Six edition of the event was participated by 367 Iranian and 137 foreign companies from 13 countries in 16000-square meter area.
 
Mirkazemi, the oil minister, Abdolhossein Bayat, the managing director of National Petrochemical Company, and Mohtashami-Pour, the director general of Downstream Petrochemical Industries Office, delivered speech in the inaugural ceremony of Iran Plast 2010 International Exhibition.
 
Addressing this ceremony, the oil minister referred to Iran Plast as one of the most renowned specialized plastic and rubber exhibitions in the region and stated that this exhibit shows the potentialities of this industry to all and makes the Iranian industrialists acquainted with the world's most modern technology, so it provides some proper opportunity for the Iranian and foreign companies in terms of cooperation and development of technical, information and trade interactions.
 
The official further noted that in addition to meeting domestic requirements, development of petrochemical industry requires exports of variable products and considering the country's great potentiality for developing this industry, materializing an appropriate international status for it is one of the strategic objectives of the Oil Ministry.
The Oil Ministry welcomes the cooperation of domestic and foreign companies for development of this industry and considers it as an opportunity for developing private sector's potentialities and international cooperation, he added.  
 
Addressing the same ceremony, Abdolhossein Bayat, the managing director of National Petrochemical Company, pointed to supporting construction of private petrochemical complexes and making joint venture with the foreign companies as some honors of this company and stated that in addition to increasing its production capacity, this company has played some key part in boosting output capacity of petrochemical industry in the private sector and joint venture projects, and production of over 1.5 million tons of basic polymers through 3 joint venture and 3 private projects over some past years proves this issue. 
 
Mohtashami-Pour, director general of Downstream Petrochemical Industries Office, for his part referred to 28 percent growth in the number of participating companies and 20 percent growth in the exhibition space in this edition of Iran Plast and remarked that number of foreign companies has increased more compared to the number of Iranian companies participating in this edition of the exhibition, adding 77 percent growth in the number of foreign companies and increasing number of participating countries to 22 from 12 indicates increasing trend of international interactions in Iran Plast 2010.
 
Some senior officials and directors of the Oil Ministry, National Petrochemical Company and affiliated companies, as well as the Majlis representatives, active industrialists in the field of plastic and rubber and directors of related guilds and unions attended the inaugural ceremony.
 
In addition to Iranian companies, some companies from Germany, Italy, Turkey, Spain, France, China, Taiwan, South Korea, Switzerland, Netherlands, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Australia, Portugal, Canada, India, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, England, Japan and Sweden will display the most modern technology, products and services in four categories of raw materials, machinery, manufactured and semi-manufactured products as well as technical and engineering services in this edition of the exhibition.  
 
Seventh edition of Iran Plast International Exhibition will be held during June 23-26, 2010 in 13 salons at Tehran Permanent International Fairgrounds. The exhibit will be participated by active Iranian and foreign industrialists in the field of downstream petrochemical industries.
